Room Editing: Right-click over a room, the pop-up menu contains all the editing functions that can be applied to this room. The functions are organized in groups:

·        Shape Edit: Deactivate/Activate, Rotations, Add Holes, Merge Room

·        Seam Edit: Seam manipulation commands (active only in layout estimating mode, refer to the section on seam manipulation)

·        Undo/Redo:

·        Cut/Copy/Paste:  Room duplication tools

·        Delete:  remove the room from the drawings (TIP: Undo to recover)

·        Material Assignment: List major covering material assignment and line item assignments, allow to change major covering material and to remove assigned line items

·        Set Pattern Start: Pick starting point for pattern material like carpet/vinyl or for tile grids

·        Center Pattern: Set pattern starting point at the center of the room boundary

·        Set Layout Direction: Set layout direction for major covering materials assigned to this room

·        Show Wall/Ceiling: Show or hide walls and ceiling of the room

·        Area/Perimeter: Calculate room area and perimeter

·        Save to Template: Save this room shape as template to be accessible by any project

·        Properties: All room related information includes geometric properties such as size, label, border, wall height, layout direction, etc.

 

 

 

Merge Selected Rooms:

·        Step 1: Pick (highlight) rooms to merge (TIP: Press down Ctrl key to pick/highlight multiple rooms, or press and drag out rectangle to contain rooms)

·        Step 2: Right-click over the highlighted rooms, select Shape Edit, Merge Room

 

 

 

       

 

 What-If Analysis with Selected Rooms On OR Off. Shape Edit/Deactivate can be used to temporarily set the room off from estimating calculation (without deleting the room), so as to conduct What-If analysis on material estimating without applying material on this room. To turn the room back on, right-click on the room, then Shape Edit/Activate.

 

 Paste Tricks: Symmetric or asymmetric room shapes can be generated by Pasting copied shape to mirror along X or Y axis. Many apartments have such room layouts. This feature is a time saver.
