In many cases, there are inset areas on room floors that are covered by different material style or different color of the same material style than the one of the main area. For example, wood area inside a carpet area.

 

Insert Inset: Click on  button on the drawing toolbar (the same as Add Attachment), then draw the inset shape directly on top of the room area like using freedraw (as depicted below). The program automatically deducts the inset area from the room in display and calculation.

 

            

 

Apply Material or Labor Item to Inset Area: Simply drag item from material panel, move it over the inset area until it gets highlighted, then drop it to apply (as depicted above on the right). The program automatically includes the inset material area in estimating calculation.
