Base board, reducer, quarter-round and transition materials are normally measured by length and should be set up properly in material database.

Setup Base Board, Transition, and etc. in Material Database:

·        Add the item under each of their categories of Installation Materials type in material database.

·        Specify its estimating spec, the unit is LF (Linear Foot), enter quantity per box if it is sold by box (For example, enter 24 if there are 24 feet of the transition in a box), per box price (per box price field), etc., as illustrated in the follow screens.

·        For the item to be eligible for association with major covering materials, the Calculate Method must be “Room Perimeter”, so the program automatically applies the items to the room perimeters.

Example: set up base board item in material database.

(1) Create a category (BAS: Base Board) under Installation Materials;

(2) Add the18” base board item under Base Board category

(3) Set the estimating parameters in Estimating Spec tab

Apply Base Board, Quarter-Round, Reducer, and Transition Items: Simply drag-and-drop to:

·        Wall sections (drop when the section(s) gets highlighted). It can be applied to a single section or the whole perimeter of room(s) (based on the cursor location).

·        Inset perimeter or any selected edges

Example: apply 8” base board to the whole perimeter of the room.

Example: apply 8” base board to ONLY one wall section of the room.

Apply Transition to Inset Area:

·        Drag and drop the transition item to the perimeter or a single segment of the perimeter of an inset area to apply.

Example: apply Wood-to-Tile transition to the center tile inset area.

Apply Transition on Doorways:

·        Transition items can be drag-and-drop to doorways directly. The program automatically calculates length usage based on doorway width.

Remove Line Item Assignments:

·        Right-click over the room, select Material Assignment from the pop-up menu, then click on the item to remove, click on Remove Button (as illustrated below).
