Use Case Scenario

FloorEstimate Pro 5 MOBILE (Pocket PC Edition)

(1) A prospect called and left his name (Joe Smith), phone number (626-555-1212) and job address (123 ABC Street, Covina, CA 91750), and asked to set an appointment on May 5, 10am to meet at the job site. Create a new project, create customer contact info, enter project job site, and schedule an appointment.

(2) Check your Calendar (try weekly, monthly, yearly views). Check details of the appointment; find customer name and phone numbers. Call prospect to remind him of the appointment. If the date is up, the pocket PC will alert the user.

(3) Meet prospect at the job site, open that project, starts to takeoff floor plans (one may draw the shapes of plan first, then enter the sizes). Always tap on Save icon in the middle of takeoff.

(4) Discuss with prospect on what material styles he wants to put on the floor plan. Then assign requested materials to the areas. (5) Do a quick estimate on material quantity, for carpet, re-arrange seams if it can be fine-tuned. Show customers where the seam runs and ask if they are ok with it, info them that the waste rate may go up if they want fewer seams.

(6) If prospect agrees on the layout, you may proceed to material selection. You may show your samples and complete the material selection process together with unit prices given to customers.

(7) Enter unit prices into the proposal sheet for each cost item (material, secondary material like padding, labor).

(8) Do an estimate on the total quantity and quote to the customer.

(9) Offer a discount or other concession if you can close the sales. Recalculate with changed numbers.

(10) If prospect oks the number, ask if he wants to close the deal.

(11) Have customer sign the contact and write a deposit if possible.

(12) If contract is signed, start to Schedule material order, pickup and installation, and payment pickup dates.

(13) Follow Calendar & Task to view various appointments and task reminders by category. You may do it in the morning or evening.

(14) Remind customer when installation date approaches (set reminder 1 day ahead, 2 day ahead ,etc)

(15) Schedule extra follow-up calls when job is done.
